I’m so proud of my client Chef & TV host Shahir Massoud who has worked tirelessly on his first cookbook: Eat, Habibi, Eat!, which was published by Penguin Random House in April 2021. In Arabic, “Habibi” is an endearment reserved for the closest friends and family. Classically trained in NYC’s French Culinary Institute, Shahir worked in the kitchens of Mario Batali (Lupa) and Jean-Georges Vongerichten ( The Mark Hotel) before returning to Toronto and being scooped up by broadcasters for his natural on-air abilities. This book is a tribute to his Egyptian roots and the recipes he grew up with and treasures. And not bad to have book testimonials from culinary stars Lidia Bastianich and Jacques Pepin! Most importantly Shahir is a super dad sharing duties with his wife Mia raising 4 year old Kairo and 4 month old Katherine.
